An ultrasound can confirm that you are indeed pregnant since it will reveal the baby in your womb and its beating heart if you are pregnant.
It is also important to know that you have a viable pregnancy. A viable pregnancy is one that is capable of developing under normal conditions.
Ultrasound may be able to rule out multiple pregnancy (twins) or a tubal (or ectopic) pregnancy. There's no way of knowing with a urine test if either of these has occurred. Approximately 25 to 30 percent of all pregnancies end in miscarriage and only an ultrasound can detect if this may be a possibility in your case.
Not only will you want proof that you are pregnant but you may also need to know for sure how far along you are. If it is important for you to know that you have a viable pregnancy or how far along you are, the next step for you might be to schedule an ultrasound. We offer a free ultrasound and the chance to meet with a doctor or nurse who can answer your questions and concerns for women who qualify.
One of our physicians will review your ultrasound, and can then "diagnose" your pregnancy.
