- Nausea, vomiting, "morning sickness"
- Frequent urination
- Tenderness and fullness of breasts, breast pigmentation, discharge
- Quickening (feeling life)
- Dark blue coloration of vaginal lining
- Stretch marks over abdomen, increased pigmentation
- Linea negra (dark line down center of abdomen)
- Pregnancy mask (dark coloration around eyes)

- Enlargement of abdomen
- Changes in size and shape of uterus
- Ability to outline fetus on physical exam
- Changes in cervix
- Braxton Hick's contraction (false labor)

- Fetal heart signs
- Fetal movements felt by examiner
- X-ray - outline of fetal skeleton
- Ultrasound demonstration of conceptus
- Doppler

Danger Signals in Pregnancy
Call your doctor or go to the Emergency Room if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms:
- Bloody or watery vaginal discharge
- Abdominal cramping
- Facial swelling
- Severe headache
- Visual disturbances
- Chills or fever
- Persistent vomiting
- Painful urination
