I'll support you whatever you decide!

This is the response that men often give when their girlfriends say they might be pregnant. Men have heard over and over that they don't have a vote, that this is a woman's issue, and that men can't do anything about it.

The statement, "I'll support you whatever you decide," in some ways puts MORE pressure on the woman. The woman then has to decide what her male partner really wants and may make a decision based on what she THINKS the male partner wants.

Most women would welcome a man who is willing to stand up, voice his concerns, and take responsibility. This is a scary time for women and they need the support of their boyfriends/husbands as they walk through this decision-making process.

This isn't just going to go away and the way men handle the situation now will affect their lives (as well as the females' lives) forever! The fact is that the men are already fathers, no matter what option is chosen.
