The Adoption Alternative

You never planned to have to make this decision.

While it may be difficult to carry your baby for nine months and place him/her with a family who will provide for all his/her needs it is important to recognize that for some, adoption is the responsible and mature decision. You are choosing what is best for you as well as the baby.

"I can't carry my baby and then give it up for adoption..."

When you choose to give your child a chance to experience life, you are saying, "I love my child and I want what is best for him/her." Placing your child with a family who will provide the love and care every child deserves is one of the most loving and non-selfish things a mother could do for her child.

It is also important for you to know that you have many choices when it comes to adoption. For example, you can choose to see your baby regularly or you can choose just to get letters and updates on how he/she is doing. You could even choose just the right adoptive family!
